The Army Museum is located in the Alcázar of Toledo. Through its collections and exhibitions, it shows the history of Spain and makes known the military contributions to the intellectual, social, cultural and scientific progress of Spain.

Santa Cruz Museum

The Santa Cruz Museum of Toledo is considered one of the most important museums in Spain, not only because of the uniqueness of its headquarters, the former Hospital of Santa Cruz del Cardenal Mendoza, but also because of the richness and variety of its collections.

Duke of Lerma Museum

The foundation is due to the widowed Duchess of Lerma who restored and refurbished the former Hospital of Tavera, also called Hospital de Afuera and linked it to the house of Medinaceli. The building was erected in 1544 by Cardinal Tavera, buried in the Church of the Hospital and whose tomb is the work of Alonso Berruguete. The project was designed by Bartolomé de Bustamante, with the works of Covarrubias, the Vergaras and later, Vandelvira continuing. The museum exhibits important paintings by El Greco and various top-notch masters: Ribera, Berruguete, Tintoretto, Lucas Jordán, Canaletto, Tristán, Sánchez Coello, etc., which alternate tapestries, furniture and luxury objects with a magnificent library. Its famous pharmacy houses an important collection of ceramic jars from Talavera and Puente del Arzobispo, with a decorated piece of furniture with a large number of drawers, called the apothecary's eye, standing out among the collection of jars, flasks and bottles. Special mention must be made of the Renaissance patio.

The building that houses the private collection is the former convent of Santa Fe, built between the 9th and 18th centuries, with the category of Cultural Interest in its condition as a National Monument. The museum installation is arranged in chronological order, in which the evolution of art from the mid-19th century to the present day can be appreciated, achieving an ideal setting for the dialogue of modern and contemporary art with the architecture of the building (Andalusian from the 9th-11th centuries, Mudejar from the 13th century, extended and remodelled between the 16th and 18th centuries)

Museum of Councils and Visigothic Culture (Church of San Román)

The Museum of Councils and Visigothic Culture is located in the Church of San Román, an exponent of the first Mudejar style in Toledo (13th century). The museum contains material remains from the ancient capital of the Visigothic kingdom of Toledo.

Museo Taller del Moro

The Museo Taller del Moro occupies part of a main house of the Toledo nobility from the 14th century and is the best example of palatine architecture from the period. The museum exhibits examples of Andalusian luxury arts from Toledo.

The museum is located in the Synagogue of El Tránsito or Synagogue of Samuel ha-Leví, considered the most beautiful medieval synagogue preserved in the world. The permanent exhibition aims to make known the history of the Jews in Spain, their arrival in the Iberian Peninsula in Roman times, their cultural golden age during the Middle Ages, their expulsion by the Catholic Monarchs in 1492, the phenomenon of conversion and their persecution by the Inquisition. The exhibition script reaches up to the present day, focusing on the exile and development of Sephardic communities around the world.

El Greco Museum

The museum is currently the only one in Spain dedicated to the figure of the painter and its essential purpose is to transmit and make the figure of El Greco understandable to society, as well as the influence of his work and personality in Toledo at the beginning of the 17th century. The museum's collections offer the public a significant sample of pieces from the 16th and 17th centuries, representative not only of the life and work of Domenikos Theotokopoulos, especially of the last years of his life, but also of the culture and society of Toledo at the time. The online catalogue of the Museo del Greco presents, in this first phase, 101 records and 237 images, including a complete Apostolate of El Greco, his View and Plan of Toledo and several male portraits created by the artist.
